How to get to Rome

Rome is an incredible centre of architecture, food, fashion, wine and many different aspects of culture heavily laden simply within its Italy’s capital, most people find a desire to travel there at, at least point in their lives.

With so many different and exciting ways to travel to Rome, with a varying spectrum of prices and scenery that you may experience on the way, in most cases the travel is half of the adventure anyway!

Train

Rome is easily accessed from places in Italy, and other joining European countries. Obtaining a weekly or monthly pass through many of the European train networks that run throughout the areas isn’t a bad idea, especially if you’re considering traveling and sight seeing many different areas.

Plane

If you don’t have the luxury of living nearby to Rome, the plane is the next closest thing that’s going to get you there. Fortunately, Rome has two international airports which certainly ease the amount of air traffic that the capital city sees every day, usually because of the numbers of tourists that go through customs every day, from every corner of the world. The two airports, Leonardo Da Vinci and Ciampino International airports have shuttle bus services, as well as taxis and trains that operate from the airports that will take you into the heart of Rome and some even to the front door of your hotel.

Flying to Rome from the UK

If you are lucky enough to live in the UK, you’re going to be able to fly to Rome at quite a cheap price. This is due to its close proximity, and the short amount of time it’s going to take to fly. There are several different options regarding the pricing of the tickets, generally a low budget airline isn’t too bad if the trip is short and snappy, just like if you’re flying into Rome. There are also sales and special deals that can be taken if you book through the internet, so check out your options before booking anything, as you may just score yourself a ridiculously cheap air flight to Rome!

Visa requirements

Make sure you check out visa requirements depending on where you’re traveling from. If you’re simply visiting on a holiday that isn’t longer than two weeks, you should be fine when moving through customs. However, if you’re planning to spend longer than two weeks within Rome, definitely make sure you check out visa requirements before you book your tickets, as you may only be allowed to stay for a particular amount of time. If you’re applying for a working holiday, make sure you’ve already got completed letters from your employer stating your employment period. If you gain a job while you’re in Rome, contact your embassy or the appropriate authorities to apply for the working holiday visa.
